Sons of the American Legion members include males of all ages whose parents or grandparents served in the U.S. military and were eligible for American Legion membership. Members of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of The American Legion comprise the Legion Family, which has a combined membership of nearly 3 million.
The Sons of The American Legion (S.A.L) is a program within The American Legion, designed for male descendants of American Legion members. To be eligible, individuals must be the son, grandson, or great-grandson of a veteran who served during eligible war eras and who is a current member of The American Legion, or a veteran who died subsequent to honorable discharge. The S.A.L. provides a way for these individuals to honor their family’s military service and participate in Legion programs
